SMALLHOLDER FARMERS ARE ANYTHING BUT SMALL

During COP30, Project Dandelion is launching a global campaign - funded by the Gates Foundation and in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development’s Gender Transformative Mechanism - urging leaders to increase investment in smallholder farmers.

Smallholder farmers grow 1/3 of the world’s food, yet they receive less than 1% of climate investment.

That's not just a funding gap,‍ it’s a $1 trillion USD missed opportunity.

Project Dandelion recognizes that women are our greatest untapped resource when it comes to climate justice. While they are the most impacted by the climate crisis, they are also the most engaged. They are leading the way on solutions and acting because they are already feeling the greatest impacts - yet their voices are often ignored.

We are on a mission to build hope and solidarity and bring more people into the movement for climate justice to apply public pressure for more urgency and follow through. Coming together we will demonstrate collective power to inspire others to stand alongside and to take action.

Amplify our message and show world leaders we demand that they invest where impact is greatest: in smallholder farmers.

Explore our campaign today.

This campaign focuses on three unique areas of engagement:

  1. UNITE rural women (front-line agricultural workers) in solidarity under the Project Dandelion badge and show the world that they are already leading the movement and we must join them.

  2. Leverage our Project Dandelion network to AMPLIFY the voices of rural women/our campaign through our leader and champion network of over 233 signatories.

  3. MOBILIZE our current community of over 200 organizations and 20,000+ followers behind rural women (front-line agricultural workers), amplify their voices, elevate their issues and their solutions, and demand our MDBs and climate funds deliver on adaptation and infrastructure through a gender lens.
